DIYnaturalpools consists of two Dutch partners: Berry (expert on DIY natural swimming pool builds, owner of Berry IJmker zwemvijvers) and Marc (landscape architect, founder of NaturalPoolMag on Instagram).

We’re both fascinated by water and how to integrate water into our daily lives.

From a young age Berry has been fascinated by ponds. His love for swimming in natural water, his passion for nature and the stubborn belief that many things can be done differently has ultimately led him to start DIY-ing natural swimming pools. Since 2019 he has succesfully helped many DIY-ers with building their own natural pools in The Netherlands, perfecting his techniques along the way.

Marc was also introduced to ponds from a young age, having a father that designed Japanese gardens, ponds with Koi fish were never far away. After studying landscape architecture he went to work for multiple architectural studios as a designer and designed mostly large public spaces as parks, squares and streets. Out of a fascination with water he started an Instagram account called @NaturalPoolMag in August of 2021. The page soon became quite succesful and has about 80.000 followers at the time of writing this (march 2024).
